Weird Weather and Weird Animals

While I hear on the news about record warm temperatures throughout most of the nation, here it's been mostly cold. We did have a day this weekend where the temperature hit 60 F. The next day we had hail, rain, sleet and snow. We didn't know what was coming next.

Yesterday and today we've seen snow and even the critters are getting tired of the fluctuating temperatures. One day they're blowing coat and the next day they're shivering. This picture shows Sugar snuggled up under my blanket trying to warm up from her trip outside. She was quite comfortable when Squeaker arrived and decided she needed to get warm too.

Sorry about the darkness of this pic. I got the one taken and could see I needed to do something else but then the camera battery died. Of course the cat and dog didn't hang out like that for as long as it takes my camera battery to recharge so this one dark pic is it. They did, however, stay together long enough for both of them to warm up and for Lindsay and I to get a good laugh.

  1. they look very cute and cosy! We have had nice enough weather the last week or so, but are waiting for spring to really "spring" into action!

  2. Adorable!

The weather here has been crazy too! It goes from sunny and 60 to snowing and 25 overnight, the animals are having a bit of a hard time. It was 70 yesterday and my poor horses were sweating just standing in the pasture.

  3. They do look snuggly and warm. We've been having warm temps but lots of wind and then last Saturday a flurry. Who knows what's next, but Spring must be just around the corner.

  5. Very cute!! I wish we would have had our normal winter here in Cincinnati. It's been close to 80 the last two days and it's only March. That means that July should be a 120. =/

  6. We've had record-breaking snow and cold in Anchorage this year. It's snowing at this very moment. We need to get the snow shoveled off our roof but who has a spare $600 lying around? Plus, there's no place to put it. The snow next to our driveway is shoulder height and the snow I've shoveled off our second-story deck is now piled as high as the deck. Gah!

Cute pictures. The animals look really comfy together.

  7. What a cute picture! I bet they have been a lot of company for you while you recuperate. I just read your last post and do hope you can gain some weight to help with those nerve endings. So glad you are able to get out to see the horses, I know that must be such an upper for you!

I have not been blogging as my Dad fell off a ten foot ladder about six and a half weeks ago and got a brain injury. We flew right down to Florida and stayed until he got out of the hospital and then brought them home to Maine. He is coming along, much slower then he would like but at 88 it's amazing that he survived the fall at all. He had two bleeds in the head which are in the process of absorbing. He, like you, is always busy doing things so this sitting around is hard on him. He is now walking with a cane instead of the walker and we can get outside some and walk in the neighborhood. I haven't been up to see my horses more then once a week but when I do it raises my spirits as I am not used to being housebound either but we don't leave Mom and Dad alone.

I think of you often and do hope you continue to make progress!!!

  10. Leave it to the animals to bring you a laugh when it is needed most. We are in the 80's right now, but expecting rain in the next few days. I know what you mean about the crazy weather.
