Update on Rhythm
For those of you who have been wondering about how things are going with Scandalous Rhythm, I got an email from Brittany letting me know that they had shown the Arabian horse at a show in August.
They showed him in hunter pleasure and he did quite well. His first class he was a bit naughty and he was 6th out of 10. That was an open hunter pleasure class. After that he settled down and did better. He was first out of 11 in the hunter pleasure open class. Then 2nd out of 8 in the JTR class and first out of 8 in the JTR championship. He was also 2nd in the maiden horse class out of 11 horses. He was 4th out of 10 in the amateur owner to ride class. He also got 3 fourth place ribbons, a fifth and a sixth. For a grand total of a lot of points. Although not enough points for Brittany to show him amateur owner at nationals but from my quick count enough to show open there. (It takes 30 points to take a horse in hunter pleasure to nationals.)
Mostly the horse was ridden by a friend of Brittany's named Briana who is a junior exhibitor. Brittany did ride him in the amateur owner class even though it had only been two months since her surgery. She is back to riding him full time now and is planning on making Tulsa next year.
That's all I know at this time. I hope closer to Christmas I will be able to catch either Rich or Brittany on the phone and get more info on how they are all doing, her recovery, future plans, etc.

Thanks for the update. I was wondering how things were going with them. Nice picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pleasant surprise to be reading a small update on Scandalous Rhythm, and reading not only is he doing well, but that Brittany is well, and that he's being ridden and placing fairly well! that's really great that he's gotten 1sts and 2nds. And apparently no lasts. That's really cool. I had been quite worried, but I guess she has realized that he was never bad for reacting like he did when Brittany did what the -I believe it was the 'as. trainer- assistant trainer told her to do, and that she shouldn't have listened to what he told her to do to her hors, and that the (well I believe) that the assistant trainer and trainer did not treat Brittany so well. All I can say, is "they're trainers, whatcha gonna do?" lol. But I guess they lost Brittany Bakers business, and that's all you can do to trainers you don't fit well with, is to not give them your business. Anyway, I'm glad to hear Brittany and Rhythm are doing well.
ReplyDeletebtw, something I've been curious to know for quite some time is.. how much did you sell Rhythm for?
PHEW. I was worried that they had decided to sell Rhythm. SOOOO glad that he is out there showing, and that Brittany is riding and healing up!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us all know MiKael. And the picture too!! Man alive he is a spectacular horse!
Thanks for the update, always glad to hear how they are doing. The picture is just gorgeous! Keep up the good work Brittany!
ReplyDeleteThat's great news about them! I'm glad for you, too, that things seem to be going well for them. Rhythm is a beautiful and talented horse! Thanks for sharing the news with us :)
ReplyDeleteYEAH!!! I am so excited to hear they are doing well. That's great news after Brittany's long recovery. I'm so encouraged about the positive update!!! I agree with Mrs. Mom...Rhythm is certainly a handsome horse!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted an update on Rhythm, I was so sure they would sell him. He is a wonderfully talented horse and he is also beautiful. It's good to see that they didn't hold the horse responsible for what happened, I'm hoping they realized that it was the trainer's fault.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great show they had to earn all those points! Good luck to this made for each other pair.
I'm so glad to hear that they are recovering and Rhythm is out there getting some great show experience and that Brittany is able to ride again. It just sounds like these two have soo much potential together, and I don't want anything (else) to get in their way! Here's to hoping you can get a more detailed update for us soon.
ReplyDeleteHunter, huh? He looks gorgeous! I'm just remembering that Brittany was intending to show him Western. I wonder why she changed her mind? I'm glad he's doing well and being ridden and enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteHunter?? So that is is forte!!! I was very glad to hear this update as I have been thinking about them all. Great work Brittany and all involved with him, I am so glad you didn't give up on him. Looking forward to hearing more positive progress next year when Brittany is able to ride him herself again.
