My journey with Arabian horses and life.

My aunt sent me this...it's pretty amazing. I heard he rides only stallions??!
ReplyDeleteI.AM.SPEECHLESS!!!
ReplyDeleteHey, you and that Lorenzo guy have something in common! you both work 4-8 horses daily! lol. Except he cuts his time in half, by working them all at once, and you work them one at a time.. I know he is so amazing, and great, and his horses are as amazing and great as his is. That is very impressive, and it amazes me. I believe Lady of Chaos showed me this guy. And I was like, your right! that is so amazing! I would love to do that, but I bet he has only gotten so good after lots of time and practice I imagine. I would like to ride my horse in the water, but I would have to see what Dandy thinks of water. I bet he would follow me in, but only IF I am holding a carrot LOL =)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Amazing sense of balance and rhythm. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHere's another great show I had the privilege to see a couple of years ago in Renton

Speaking of shows, what classes are you entered in on Saturday? I'll be there watching for your 2 handsome "guys".
ReplyDeleteThe whole time watching that I just kept thinking how hard it must be to keep a dozen grey horses all that clean.
ReplyDeleteI've seen this before. The horses are really well trained aren't they? This video should also come with a disclaimer,'Don't try this at home'. I can't imagine trying a circus act like this with any of my horses.
ReplyDeleteI have seen this before and it's incredible.
ReplyDeleteHoly moly!!
ReplyDeleteThe balance that man possesses is amazing!
ReplyDeleteLiberty work is one of my favorite parts of training -- not that my own efforts approach what Lorenzo does, but what a thrill! I never tire of watching this video.
ReplyDeletepony girl, it wouldn't surprise me to know that he rides only stallions. They are more even tempered than mares. I'm sure a guy like this doesn't have much trouble keeping the focused.
ReplyDeletebrowneyed cowgirls, Yes, I think it did the same to me. That's why the post was so short! LOL
kim, that might be on of the few things we have in common. He sure gets inside their heads much better than I do. While I'd not be inclined to do those tricks, I'd sure like to have that kind of control.
dj, I think the whole darn thing is amazing. As for Saturday classes I think I posted the number of my class when I answered you before - I think class 99. Still don't have Rachel's stuff figured out yet only know she has two one in the morning and one in the afternoon I think.
onethebit, I have to admit that thought crossed my mind. lol
grey horse, you're probably right about the disclaimer. lol
billie, it really is something incredible. I can't even imagine what it takes to train horses like this.
equinespirit, ditto here!
katee, his horse training skills aren't too bad either!!!
Ah yes, the Flying Frenchman! He is one of the best horseman out there, the kind that is few and far between in all ages... I just love watching him work, he is incredible!
ReplyDeleteL, the Flying Frenchman, huh? How come you guys have all seen him before and I missed him? lol
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! I couldn't find your answer from before.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the whole Lorenzo show looks truly amazing! The training and trust between them is wonderful to see! It's as if they are ONE!
The jumping was rather amazing :-0
ReplyDeleteThis story is by Niasque, Lorenzo's first horse. I had to read it twice, and by the second time I really understood what was being written. It's basically how Lorenzo grew up, and tells why Lorenzo rides the way he does, and you realize that is why he is so good with the horses.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.lorenzo.fr/1page1.html
Also, he has been riding like that before he was 10. And so Lorenzo is still young, and I would be impressed if he still rides like that into his 70's, but I am sure if he wanted to, he definitely would. It would be interesting to know when Lorenzo will retire. But not for a couple decades.
ReplyDeleteI believe Lorenzo was born in 1981. So he will probably be riding for another 40 years :)
This guy knows his horses, and they know him. What an amazing relationship of trust and understanding. It gave me goosebumps.
ReplyDeleteI know this isn't about today's post, but I haven't read in a while, and I caught up today. I figured if I posted on an old one, it wouldn't get noticed. I think if you want to sell some horses, a site update is needed on your rising rainbow home site. You still have your July 15 open house thing, and any traffic you get to your site is not taken advantage of when people see an old, not updated site. That's just my thought, though.
ReplyDeletedj, I'm glad you got it this time. I couldn't tell you where the other answer is either. lol
ReplyDeletewiola, I couldn't get over them going over different jumps in the same sequence. That must be quite some steering he has.
kim, thanks for this info. After I get back from my show, I will look this up.
Since we all get better as we go along I can only imagine what he will be doing when he gets older.
hidden heights, You are right about this. My website has been updated but the open house stuff was missed as well as some other things.
I need to set up some kind of code or notations so that I don't miss updates on things that are dated because with all that information it is just too much to read it all over and do corrections each time.
I am currently working on a whole new set of updates and some new pics but my webmaster wants it all at one time and I'm not quite done with it yet. But soon, very soon.
I would say 1 part horseman, 1 part athelete and at least 1 part crazy! But you know I would do it if I could!
ReplyDeleteFabulous, I can only dream of having that balance trust and understanding of my horses. Wow.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that immensely.
I have an ID, but I forgot my password!
ReplyDeleteThe Lorenzo video was astonishing. I make jewlery and used to own and show Arabians years ago (pre-children) - they have been a love and an inspiration of mine, all my life. Thank you for posting this amazing video for us to enjoy and share.
