The girl who rode Hope did, however, but I think she is the only one in the barn other than me who ever rode with one. Maybe my GD at the start.

I'm pretty sure most questions will be answered by the end of this series. If not, ask away.

MM, I agree with you. This particular girl rides a very naughty horse so maybe BG thought she was ok riding Hope. For me the idea she looked cute up there just didn't make sense. Cute just doesn't take precedence over safety. Luckily Hope was a good girl and did nothing dangerous.

Linda, Dave really did lay it out there in that comment. I suspect that BG doesn't think it turned out right but then "right" was never really on his mind. It was most certainly on mine and I had no intentions of letting it rest until the "right" thing was done.Rising Rainbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04239592070775412669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6053415389447235937.post-54533928700982929192011-01-31T09:58:47.392-08:002011-01-31T09:58:47.392-08:00Green rider/Green horse--bad, bad combo. I really did like to read the part about what Dave said to him...you won't quit 'til you make it right...hopefully, that's a little foreshadowing for the rest of the story.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14303523299217618526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6053415389447235937.post-90416233549131548842011-01-31T06:07:57.840-08:002011-01-31T06:07:57.840-08:00Oh my goodness I went cold as I read that he put a...Oh my goodness I went cold as I read that he put a child on a green horse. You are so right, it was a train wreck just waiting to happen. Glad you took care of that! You are so right when you said 'unfortunately it's just not the way life works.' The geldings that were started he put his assistant (he called her dead weight) on.

you're so right, it was nothing but a wreck waiting to happen for both Hope and the girl. That's why I put a stop to it.

Fern, can't really tell you what his reasoning was. I think he'd been doing that kind of stuff for a while and no one but me really called him on it. The parents of the kids think he knows what he's doing but then for a while, I thought the same. What can I say except that the light dawned slowly for me except in the instance of this mare being ridden by the child. That glared at me from the start.Rising Rainbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04239592070775412669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6053415389447235937.post-57465263247693021172011-01-30T17:58:29.366-08:002011-01-30T17:58:29.366-08:00Busy times, I don't get why he would put a chi...Busy times, I don't get why he would put a child, and a beginner at that on a horse in training, but I am sure he had a long list of reasone/excuses.Sherry Sikstromhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15739108723318002627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6053415389447235937.post-42973318677599289382011-01-30T17:48:36.191-08:002011-01-30T17:48:36.191-08:00That's a lot of horses being worked on a regul...That's a lot of horses being worked on a regular basis. I don't know where you find your energy. And I say you because it seems to me that BG isn't doing all that much to hold up his end of the bargain. It also sounds like he doesn't really know what he's doing with young horses. Putting a kid on a green mare is just stupid and nothing good was going to come of that. Glad you got her off before anything bad happened to either her or the horse.

I like what Dave had to say.Grey Horse Mattershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05837575441967937196noreply@blogger.com
